The Effect of Information Technology Applied to Preschool With the rapid growth of the information technology, the usage of computer technology and Internet is used more common in the preschool as well as at home. The application of integration of information technology into preschool classroom can be carried out in form of multimedia information. Computers may be used to support student learning When applying information technology into the early childhood classroom learning environment some factors should be considered. Teacher’s knowledge about the technology, software, the way the software used and creating an appropriate environment, Parents’ support in the home. Can computer usage benefit, no effect or detrimental to the child’s personal growth. What kind of guidelines should apply to technology within the early childhood curriculum? Can computer usage can help children develop better social relationships with peers? (Jones & Selby, 1997). The purpose of this study is to explore the issues of applying information technology to early childhood education in Taiwan and Australia. The effects of the integration of information technology applied in preschool will be evaluated to look into the outcomes of learning attitude and achievement in preschool. Experiments will be taken setting students of preschool as research object; gives courses to two groups, one is the group integrated with information technology and the other is the traditional group. Research tools such achievement test as well as questionnaire of attitude are used to explore the following aspects. 1. What kind of information technology is suitable to be used ? 2. Children’s cognitive and social abilities 3. The influence on child development 4. Teacher’s knowledge about the technology, software and the way to create a proper environment 5. The relationship among children, teacher and parents after applied information technology 6. The influence on learning attitude and achievement on different teaching methods and ability level The appropriate use of information technology has many implications for early childhood professional development. I have studied computer programming at Woman College of Technology in Leeds England, and I have been working in the early childhood education for several years. Therefore, I have sound background on information technology and early childhood education. I hope this study can find some guidelines about the way to apply information technology to preschool and how to make children, teacher and parents work together to create a appropriate environment so children can have better achievement and social abilities on their development

The Role of Technology in Education

In the current age we live in, technology has become an important component. Every day there is some new gadget or software that makes lives easier and improves on the technology and software that already exists. Making lives easier is not, however, the only role technology plays in our lives.

Technology is playing an increasing role in education. As technology advances, it is used to benefit students of all ages in the learning process.

Technology used in the classroom helps students adsorb the material. For example, since some people are visual learners, projection screens linked to computers can allow students to see their notes instead of simply listening to a teacher deliver a lecture.

Software can be used to supplement class curriculum. The programs provide study questions, activities, and even tests and quizzes for a class that can help students continue learning outside the classroom.

Technology has also become part of many curriculums, even outside of computer and technology classes. Students use computers to create presentations and use the Internet to research topics for papers and essays.

Students also learn to use the technology available to them in computer and tech classes. This ensures that after graduation they will be able to use the technology in a work setting, which may put them ahead of someone who didn't have access to a particular technology or software in their own school setting.

As technology advances, students have better access to educational opportunities like these. When something new and "better" is revealed, the "older" technology becomes more affordable, allowing it to be used in educational settings, even when schools are on a tight budget.

Technology has also advanced to help children even before they've started school. Educational video games and systems for young children helps them prepare for school and in some cases get a head start on their education.

There are people who may say children are "spoiled" by technology. Instead of being able to add a long column of numbers in their heads, for example, they turn to a calculator. Regardless of these arguments, technology is an important part of today's society. By incorporating it into the classroom, students will be better equipped to transition from the classroom to the work place.

what universities can i get into that would be good for me?

well i have a 3.5 gpa (averaged - As and Bs - only 2 Cs not even on the final report card my whole 4 high school years). i got a 20 (am taking it again in december) on the acts and got an 81% on the writing part. I have a learning disability (well like adhd) and i need small classes (like up to 30 a class and if bigger i will need alot of help) and if i live there i will need a single room (medical issues). things i've done: i've worked at a school store before and trained people... i've voluteenered over 110 hours and am not done yet i ride horses 2-7 days a week and showed (won 28 ribbons in 7 shows) i've been out of the country well to mexico, canada, italy, carribians, costa rica and a few other places and i've been like almost all over USA. I love little children, adults, and animals (and like to help take care of people) um i did soccer in 8th grade and got an award... i also kind of want the collge to be close to Maryland (like less than 3 hours away) the majors i'm interested in are education, business information technology, anything in animal scienes (not sure yet), photography or/and creative writing and that's all i can think of at the moment. so which colleges would be good for me? well i'll prob want to be part time. i don't really want to overload in courses so yeah. and i do have enough money for all colleges...

I searched for Maryland Colleges that have under 5,000 students and this is what came up Your community service will be really beneficial...I had a GPA and ACT very close to yours but also had a resume similar (I did a lot of stuff, lol) and it was worth more than I thought it would be. I got in a good school and got a big scholarship. I'm at community college for a year but going to a university later. Look at that site above and do some of your own looking around. A private liberal arts college would probably give you a scholarship for all the stuff you've done (especially if your ACT is brought up) and will have the smaller classes you want. If you want to go to a larger school or can't decide, it's fine to start at jr college and then change. Some people start at university as a freshman because they find the change later on difficult, so that depends on your personality.

Are young children smarter than we were when we were kids?

If so, what makes them smarter? Information Technology? Education systems? Mass media?

Yes they are smarter now with all the modern technologies we have like computers, visual aides. TV and radio. They get lots of information from their daily activities. But unfortunately they lack exercises by just sitting in front of the computer all day.

Is education keeping up with technology?

I was just thinking about this today? Now it's been a few years since I was in school, but I don't think a lot has changed. Is the current form of education (primarily in secondary schools) keeping up with the technological demands of the real world and job market today? Now I remember when I was in school that when we were writing a paper, or researching a project, we were not allowed to use internet references, and had to quote every reference from the literature it came from. But a lot of the books that were available were outdated and not that practical. Now with information being made available at a much faster pace (via the internet) how can published material compete with that? Pretty much every student now has at least one computer in their home, if not more, and those that don't, have access through many other ways. Is it fair for schools/teachers to continue to deny students from using electronic information for education and reference? I'm not saying that schools don't have computers, they definitely do, but they are usually also out of date and slow, and there are never enough for all the students that want to use them. I guess I am more saying that teachers don't want to accept internet research as references in student's work. How does this prepare students for the real world? Has anyone out there with a normal day to day job ever gone to a library to find information about something work related? Probably not. The majority of office workers now work all day on the computer and have constant access to the internet to answer anything that they don't know. Electronic communication has changed the human race. How many people read actual books anymore? (sad but true) The world is so fast paced now and everything so readily available, shouldn't education change to keep up? Ok, so this would probably never happen, since it is directly related to large sums of money being put into the education system that aren't there, but wouldn't it be better if it were like this? Every student desk was a computer work station, for every class. The teacher could easily have the lesson on their own screen, that could be easily displayed on a large screen, or sent directly to each student's screen. The students could do their work directly on their computers and save everything on external flash drives that they could take to and from class and home. All lessons could be saved into files, thus saving students from carrying around large amounts of books and binders and saving their backs as well. Learning would probably become much more efficient. Most children now can easily operate simple computer tasks by the age of two and have mastered all basic computer applications and the internet by age 10. Does it not seem impractical to not apply that knowledge to teaching? I know some people are going to say that "how can you trust information from internet sources". I know not everything on the internet is accurate, since anyone can really say anything they want, and you don't know where that is coming from. But there are sites that are reputable and accurate. Schools/teachers could make a list of sites that are acceptable for research, and there could be internet blocks in place on computers that make unacceptable sites inaccessible. I know that is possible since there are similar blocks in my workplace. Maybe if this giant education overhaul were to happen, students grades would improve from the dismal results that are generally seen today in standardized testing. Maybe in the very long term, this is the direction that education will take, I don't know for sure. But it is easy to see that even in the last 20 years, the information and technological revolution have drastically changed the world, and humans ourselves. At least I don't think that education is keeping up. What does everyone else think?? Well I meant in North America in general.
